The Helsinki Distilling Company, Finland’s most internationally awarded craft distillery, and Amorphis, one of the cornerstones of Finnish metal, have joined forces to create a whiskey that combines the depth of music, the power of Finnish grain, and the craftsmanship of whisky masters. Amorphis Whiskey is a tribute to Finnish craftsmanship – in the studio, on stage, and in the distillery. Amorphis Whiskey is made from domestic rye and barley malt and blended with whiskeys that have been matured in American bourbon, Spanish sherry, and Scottish smoky whiskey barrels. The result is a multi-layered and deep whiskey, in which the wine-like sweetness of sherry, the spice of rye, and the light smokiness that is in tune with Amorphis’ sound merge into a soft and long aftertaste. The aromas also reveal dried fruit, dark chocolate, and a subtle toastiness. “This whisky is not just a signature bottle. We wanted to create something that truly reflects the world of Amorphis’ music – dark, multi-dimensional and at the same time approachable. Making the whisky, designing the flavour profile and maturing the drink is a much longer process than making an album. Over the past six years, we have learned a lot about what Finnish grain is capable of,” describes Amorphis band the collaboration. 3–5 years of maturation
